This cabin gives you the essence of wilderness
without the sacrifice of creature comforts. Hundreds of acres of
state forest sit just across the dirt road. White
Birch Cabin is located high on a mountain just to the North of Scenic
Route 6 and just 20 minutes from the beautiful town of Wellsboro
and the famous Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania (picture above). The
elevation of 2300 feet above sea level assures fresh cool air to
go with the peacefulness of the adjacent Tioga State Forest.
Our 8 acres are loaded with white birch trees that can only be
described as "magic" on a moonlit night when they create an illusion of giant
candlesticks aglow. Lots of snow in the winter for those of you who love winter
sports. Denton Hill Ski Area is just 30 minutes away off route 6.
We also have a network of named trails, a variety of swings, a
large campfire area, and a couple of great hammock attachment locations for
long and leisurely rests among the white birch woods. The yard also features a
large fire pit for bonfires or just roasting marshmallows. Summer days are
beautiful and there won't be any need for an air conditioner. Average high
temperature in July is 77 degrees!
This kitchen features a full sized 'fridge, electric stove,
oven, and microwave. It's a complete kitchen with cooking utensils, cleaning
supplies, and enough dishware for eight people. A gas grill is located in the
pavilion.
This cabin also features a cozy living room for those chilly
fall nights. It's equipped with VCR&DVD player. The large sectional couch
converts to a full size mattress. The telephone can be used for local calls.
There is a beautiful beamed bedroom containing a king sized
bed on the second floor. There is also a futon and two sleeper couches on the
first floor for additional sleeping options. The cabin sleeps a total of 8
people!
On a very rare occasion you may hear a
car passing by just out of site beyond the birch. Yes, it's just about that
serene at this special place. Close to fun, shopping, fine dining and mountain
or lake activities.but not too close! Far from the hectic pace of your normal
day, but not too far. All in all ---just right.
Come and enjoy at your earliest convenience.
